Eazyplex Pneumocystis Jirovecii

Direct diagnostics from BAL, BS and TS within 25 minutes!

Pneumocystis Pneumonia (PCP), is considered to be one of the most frequent, and most severe, opportunistic infections in immunocompromised individuals. Whilst it is known that PCP is caused by P. jirovecii, the debate remains whether PCP is the result of reactivation of a latent childhood infection, or it is instead a de novo infection. Peaking the interest of hygiene management, was the discovery that nosocomial patient-to-patient transmission has been shown to be possible.

In order to be able to treat a patient with PCP as quickly as possible, eazyplex® Pneumocystis jirovecii can be perfomed from bronchoaveolar Lavage (BAL), bronchial secretions (BS), and tracheal secretions (TS), all without the need for DNA extractions.
